The food at Boathouse was really very good, better than at Whiteface Lodge and that was a beautiful venue we stayed at prior to coming here, and the food wasn't bad, just not as good. I know people have complained about Boathouse, I've read previous reviews, but we were there for the eclipse and although they should have hired some busboys, and a couple more servers, the food was great, the waitstaff was great and the bartender did a great job and nice pours. Truly, everything we had was delicious, the club sandwich which we shared was perfect, loved the housemade chips, my fault not asking for the dressing for the salad on the side, everyone likes their salad dressed to their taste. For dinner, the bolognese penne was great, needed just a bit of salt, and we loved the Brussel sprout appetizer. We are well travelled and cook extensively at home and I think we know when something is good or not. They really were on their game for the eclipse! Cannot find much fault with the room, it was a waterfront room, there was a slight problem with the weather stripping on the window. Otherwise, it is not a lavish room but it does have a very comfortable bed, nice amenities in the bathroom and our room had pegs as well as clothes hangers. Our room had a coffee maker with pods and a mini frig. We could hear the children in the room next to us, but we had a room that could be an adjoining room. Overall, it was a lovely stay, and enjoyed the eclipse.

Beautiful location by the Lake Flower. Lots of free parking. Restaurant on site. Plenty of eateries in the vicinity. Less than half hour drive from Lake Placid. Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. Lots of comfortable seating arrangements in the lobby. Lots of seating arrangements on patios by the waterfront. Propane fireplaces on patios. Loons creating an enchanting atmosphere in the evening.

The hotel was clean, was modernly appointed, and our view of the lake was lovely. The staff were helpful in providing a microwave in our room upon request. We were able to watch a thunderstorm from our window which was the best way for us to shelter in our cozy room. The lighting in all the spaces was excellent, which is often a problem area.

Lisa

Convenient location and easy to get in and out of the area towards Lake Placid for hiking. Hotel and room were immaculate including bathroom and bed was very comfortable. Will definitely look to stay here again next year at the same time.

Gary

The hotel is amazing, the room with lake view is gorgeous and the whole property modern and very well maintained. Nice pool, very nice hot tube, fitness center very good. Also the common space with fireplace was very warm and welcoming
